Handmade Cinema Presents... Muppet Treasure Trove
This half term puppets, pirates and Muppet Treasure Island drop anchor at The Montgomery for a week of swashbuckling family fun. After the success of the sold out Jungle Book screening last year, we return to The Monty for a trip on the seas with puppet and pirate making workshops and two film screenings.
Make a Muppet, Tuesday 27 October, 9.30am and 12.30pm (2 hours)
In Make a Muppet, crafters are invited to bring a Muppet puppet to life. You can create your own Kermit, paint Miss Piggy or even try and give Gonzo a makeover.
A Pirate's Life for Me, Thursday 29 October, 9.30am and 12.30pm (2 hours)
In A Pirate’s Life for Me wannabe pirates can become a captain for the day! Try your hand at decorating a pirate hat, eye patch and bandana or making buried treasure from clay.
Muppet Treasure Island Screening, Saturday 31 October, 10am and 1.30pm (2.5 hours)
There will be two chances to join in the Muppet Treasure Island festivities, which include a treasure hunt, craft activities, face painting, glitter tattoos, a film screening and even a few pirates! Mini mateys are invited to come in their best seafaring fancy dress along with their favourite puppet toy.

The Muppet Christmas Carol
Huge thank you to everyone who came down for our screening of The Muppet Christmas Carol at Walkley Community Centre the other weekend!
It was lovely to see so many people there and we were overwhelmed that so many families took time out of their busy, pre-Christmas weekends to join us for an afternoon of festive frivolities!
Really big thank you to Becky (@thimbleofgrace) for originally getting in contact with us and for recruiting so many helpful Christmas elves to transform the room, the staff at the Community Centre for being so welcoming. Thank you also to: St Mary's CE School and Walkley Brownies/Rainbows for allowing us in to run workshops and for creating such beautiful Christmas Wreaths and Lanterns and Mike Scown from Yorkshire Artspace, our ceramics expert for sharing his artistic and creative skills with us at the Y4s at St Mary's!
And finally to the lovely musician Magpie for stepping in at the last moment and entertaining us with some Christmassy favourites. Be sure to follow them on facebook - www.facebook.com/magpiebandofficial
Check out some of our photos below of day's festivities!!
That's it from Handmade Cinema for this year but be sure to follow us on facebook (www.facebook.com/handmadecinema) and twitter (@handmadecinema) as we have plenty of exciting news about future immersive screenings in the New Year!
Thank you so much to all who have supported us in the last year and attended our screenings or workshops; it has been lovely to meet so many wonderful Sheffield folk and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year!
Merry Christmas everyone!
