Summer Family Workshops with SYHA!

The start of Summer has been super busy here at Handmade Cinema as we are delighted to be running fun, film-related Family Workshops as part of South Yorkshire Housing Association's Open Cinema Summer Season! 

We have already held two fantastic workshops, a Lego Movie inspired Stop Motion Animation Workshop at St Barts Church in which children created this wonderful short film! 

And last week we held a Shield Making workshop at Cuthbert Bank before a screening of the wonderful Brave! 

This week we return with Wreck It Ralph and another chance to have a go at creating your own stop motion animation! Both the workshop and the screening are FREE and are set to take place at Cuthbert Bank from 1:30pm on Wednesday 6th August!

Call Out For The Goonies Workshops!

Urgent call out for Creative/Arty people to assist with two workshops Handmade Cinema are running THURSDAY and FRIDAY next week prior to a screening of The Goonies! 

Handmade Cinema have teamed up with our good friends Magic Lantern Film Club who are showing the cult classic at Highfields Adventure Playground, Sharrow Sheffield on Saturday 9th August at 3pm - for FREE!!

In usual Handmade Cinema style we will be exploring the films themes with free and fun creative workshops beforehand at Highfield's Adventure Playground!! We're thinking treasure maps, pirates and of course, Adventure! 

If you are creative/artist or just have a passion for The Goonies we would love you to join us and help out with one (or both!) of our workshops! Artistic ability not essential but must have an in date CRB/DBS check. 

Dates: 

You must be available for one or both of the dates below! 

Thursday 7th August 2-5pm at Highfields Adventure Playground

Friday 8th August 3-5pm at Highfields Adventure Playground


Payment: 

We are supported by Sheffield City Council's Ward Pots Small Grants so some payment is available. This will be Thursday £25 and Friday £20.

The Goonies - Coming Soon to Highfield's Adventure Playground!

Bored and looking for something fun to do with the kids next weekend? 

Our good friends Magic Lantern are putting on a screening of The Goonies next Saturday 9th August at 3pm in Highfield's Adventure Playground, Sharrow. For FREE! 

To mark their screening of this wonderful cult classic, we at Handmade Cinema have decided to team up with Magic Lantern and are running fun, FREE, family workshops next Thursday and Friday at Highfield's Adventure Playground. 

Whether it's designing and making your own treasure map, or helping us recreate key set pieces/scenes and props from the film to be used in a treasure hunt before the film showing - there is something for everyone to take part and get involved in!
